PDF to Word

Turn a PDF into an editable Word document (DOCX). Text and paragraphs are extracted right in your browser — the file is never uploaded.

Files never leave your device

    How it works

    1. Add a PDF file.
    2. Text is extracted page by page in a few seconds.
    3. Download the DOCX and open it in Word, Google Docs or LibreOffice.

    When PDF to Word helps

PDF is made for reading, not editing. Converting to Word is the fastest way to change a contract, reuse text from a report, fix a résumé or quote a document without retyping it.

    What works best

The result is best for documents created on a computer: letters, contracts, articles, theses. After converting, check headings and lists and set the font you need — the text itself is ready to edit.

    Questions

Will the layout be the same?

The tool brings over the text, paragraphs and page breaks. Complex layouts, tables, images and fonts are simplified. Scanned PDFs have no text layer and need OCR, which this tool doesn’t do.

Are my files uploaded to a server?

No. Everything runs in your browser with JavaScript, so your files are never sent anywhere. Once the page has loaded, the tool even works offline.

Is it free? Are there limits?

It’s free, with no sign-up and no watermarks. The only limit is your device’s memory: very large files can take a little longer on a phone.
